St. Louis Unions Launch Programs To Recruit Women And Minorities Into Trades

The Building Union Diversity (BUD) program was launched to increase the number of women and minorities employed in construction trades by creating a pool of well trained and motivated union apprentices. With funding from the federal government, those who meet the eligibility requirements will enter into a rigorous, eight-week pre-apprenticeship training program to learn the skills needed to become a union apprentice. If they make it through the program, they will be guaranteed an interview with one of several companies for a full-time union job.
